Floods

Floods

Over the years a number of damaging flood incidents in the village have been caused by uncontrolled run-off water from adjacent rural land. There is no record of any major flooding in the village directly caused by the Turakina River. The photos, news clippings and other documents below illustrate both the run-off flooding and river flooding effects on Koitiata.
