The Koitiata’s 2017 centennial was the catalyst for this history project. The web page was created to provide access to the extensive collection of photos, and other documents that were assembled.

The Book:
“100 Years At The Beach”
“100 Years at the Beach” is a 40-page publication which was written and produced for the community by Koitiata resident, Eddy Mason. It is a condensed view of our history, focusing on the earlier years and the establishment of the village.

The assortment of history information on this site totals 1200+ pages, and it is grouped into 32 subjects.

On that page, and also at the beginning of the subject files below, a full 33-page catalogue of each subject’s respective content pages can be accessed.

The content of the history subject collection is available via the site’s installed PDF viewer. Each subject is accessed via their respective ‘open viewer’ buttons.
Many documents available were already copies of copies, and the reproduction of those and other scanned pages has resulted in some difficult to read content, being most evident with older clippings and documents. For this reason, we have updated the site’s content with higher resolution files, which may provide a better viewing of difficult to read pages. But it may also cause some delay before content becomes viewable, especially for slower internet connections. It’s a bit like life, a compromise!
